Release Theory (Prod. by The Arkitech & WCProductionz)

Who knew philosophy was something to smoke to? From two fresh west coast hip hop artists, Phat Dawg of The Family Compact and Max Kala of Soular, Release Theory is a song that deals with high minded concepts presented in classic hip hop fashion: a dope beat that you can either bob your head to, or just chill out and listen to in a smoking session, combined with emcee lyricism and interplay that can rival that of Redman & Method Man.

After an Oxfam Canada fundraiser held by The Family Compact, Phat Dawg and Max Kala met at an after-party and found themselves engaging in a discussion about freeing your mind from socially imposed thought constraints that provided the basis for this song. The two emcees got together soon afterwards and wrote the song, the beat to which was a result of a collaboration between Phat Dawg's own WCProductionz and The Arkitech, Max Kala's close friend and one half of hip hop group Soular.

A music video will be shot for the track and released in the near future, the nature of which is hinted at in the single's promotional poster.
